Further Developments

I’ve been keeping an eye on Bombardier and all of the speculation following the loss of the deal and to be honest the way it’s been handled is absolutely shocking.

Then again, it’s nothing new after everything Britain’s been through under it’s corrupt leadership.

Proud Workers Of Bombardier

Hiding the Truth

The government have openly admitted it would prefer to save it’s public image rather than save Britain’s last train making company Bombardier and 3000 jobs. Letters from local MP’s trying to persuade them to change their mind and support their own country wasn’t enough, a petition signed by 50,000 people expressing how much it would affect their local community wasn’t enough, so what would it actually take for the government to change their mind about the Bombardier situation? Reputation is the simple answer.

Shadow Transport Secretary Maria Eagle said: “It is incredible that the Tory-led Government is sticking its head in the sand when it should be doing everything possible to protect manufacturing jobs.”

Bombardier Struggling

Bombardier in Derby has already made 1,400 of its 3,000 workers redundant after losing the Thameslink bid.

Last night John Pearson, from the Unite union, said: “I’m sure another U-turn won’t make any difference. They are all being stubborn. All they have to do is admit they made a mistake and get out of this mess. Now is the time for them to do the right thing.

But the point is, the government have never actually shown an interest in the people, what they do, what the stand for or who they are. As stated above, it’s a simple case of admitting that they made a mistake and cancelling the deal, it’s simple and perfectly legal. So instead of saving 3000 jobs they insist on sticking to their guns like a child lying about a cookie, when the crumbs are all over it’s face.

It’s highly degrading and infuriating that this country looks after others before it looks after itself… Actually that needs re-phrasing, it’s highly degrading and infuriating that the people of this country do everything to keep it afloat whilst the leaders see who can get us into the most trouble in the shortest amount of time.

Anyone else feel like this country is ran by children?

But Chris Williamson, Labour MP for Derby North, said: “The Government has betrayed British manufacturing and Vince Cable is deluding himself if he thinks the Coalition has a reputation that is worth protecting.

“People are not interested in his weasel words about a ‘personal commitment’ to Derby, they just want their Government to stand up for Britain.

“Unless the Government reverses its plans to build Thameslink trains in Germany, 2011 will be the end of the line for British train making.

I think it’s safe to say that train left the station a while ago… sorry awful pun

If a signed petition of 50,000 signatures isn’t enough to save 3000 jobs then it’s clear the government still needs to go back to school and learn to listen properly.

Thanks,

Nathan
